High uric acid levels in the blood exceed normal limits causing a buildup of uric acid in joints and other organs of the body. This buildup of uric acid makes joints sore, painful and inflamed (Haryani & Misniarti, 2020). The pain can be overcome in several ways, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures. One of the effective and efficient non-pharmacological therapy is by giving warm compresses. Warm compresses are non-pharmacological therapy to eliminate or reduce pain by providing a sense of warmth, meeting the need for comfort, reducing or relieving pain, and reducing the occurrence of muscle spasms by using warm water (Hidayat, 2015) in Hoesny et al, 2018).
