  • Pneumonia is an acute tract infection that negatively affects the lungs caused by viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Transmission can be through droplets from someone who suffers from this disease from coughing or sneezing, contact with sufferers, and also caused by environmental factors (WHO, 2016; Jones et al., 2016). The purpose of this study was to determine the description of nursing care in pneumonia patients with ineffective breathing patterns with the semi-Fowler technique. Semi Fowler is positioning the patient in a semi-sitting position by supporting the head and shoulders using a pillow, at the knees bent and supported by pillows, and on the foot pads to keep the feet in position. Descriptive research was conducted with a case study about the description of nursing care in two pediatric pneumonia patients with ineffective breathing patterns which included assessment, nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. The results showed that both clients experienced shortness of breath and cough. Implementation to increase oxygen supply so that its function is more optimal and effective by monitoring breathing patterns, monitoring breath sounds, monitoring sputum, maintaining airway patency, positioning semi-Fowler or Fowler. The problem of ineffective breathing patterns in patient 1 and patient 2 can be resolved on the fourth day of nursing care. The conclusion from the results of the semi-Fowler technique nursing actions proved to be effective. Keywords : Child Pneumonia, Ineffective breathing pattern, Semi fowler, Nursing care.
