- Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia and impaired carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism associated with absolute or relative deficiency of insulin secretory action. Instability of glucose levels is the variation of blood glucose levels up/down from normal range. Blood sugar levels that are too high or hyperglycemia will cause weakness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fainting, if the increase is very high it can cause coma and death. The action taken is to monitor blood sugar levels at any time, and to collaborate in giving insulin. The method used is descriptive method. Subjects in this case study were 2 patients with type II diabetes mellitus with hyperglycemia. Data was collected by direct observation, interview and physical examination for 4 days. The results of a case study carried out for 4 days found differences in blood sugar levels (GDS) in the two patients, including: in patient 1 (Mrs. H) the first day 215 mg/dL, the second day 204 ml/dL, the third day 212 mg/dL and the fourth day 134 mg/dL. And in patient 2 (Mrs. S) the first day was 393 mg/dL, the second day was 286 ml/dL, the third day was 261 mg/dL and the fourth day was 149 mg/dL.
