  • Post partum is the period after giving birth or giving birth. The period from a few hours after the birth of the placenta or umbilical cord to the sixth week after delivery. Knowledge is a domain of things that can shape behavior. Knowledge Deficit is the absence or lack of cognitive information related to a particular topic. Education is essentially an activity or effort to convey health messages to the public, groups or individuals. Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding only for babies until the age of 6 months without additional fluids or other foods. The purpose of this study was to obtain the results of nursing care in spontaneous post partum patients in meeting the knowledge needs of exclusive breastfeeding in the Wijaya Kusuma Room, RSUD Dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara Serang. The research method used is a case study approach. The results of the study found that the first patient did not know about exclusive breastfeeding and the second patient had low knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Nursing diagnosis found deficit in exclusive breastfeeding knowledge. After implementing nursing for 4 days with exclusive breastfeeding education actions, the problem was resolved, marked by both patients showing changes in knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and in accordance with theory. Suggestions for further research can be to conduct further research on the failure factors of exclusive breastfeeding for mothers who have had IMD, besides that it can include the role of the family, the support factor of health workers. breastfeeding techniques, and how to breastfeed (using a pacifier or directly).
