  • This research is entitled The Correlation between Students’ Temperament Characteristic and the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning with Students Speaking Online Learning at Holmesglen Language Centre Tangerang in Academic Year 2020/2021. The objectives of this research are; (1) to To investigate whether there is any correlation between students’ temperament characteristics with speaking skill or not, (2) To investigate whether there is any correlation between the strategy inventory for language learning with students’ speaking skill in accordance with the results of filling out a questionnaire about strategy inventory for language learning. And (3) To investigate whether there is any correlation between students’ temperament characteristics and the strategy inventory for language learning with students’ speaking skill. This research was conducted at Holmesglen Language Centre Tangerang. It is located at Tangerang City Business Park Ruko D-26 Jl. Jenderal Sudirman No. 1 Cikokol Tangerang – Kota Tangerang since september 2020. The total number of population are around 3000 students. The number of participants were taken based on random sampling, it is 30 participants. This research can be categorized as Quantitative correlation method which studies the correlation between two or more variables. In this research, the researcher examined the relationship between three variables: two independent variables (X) and one dependent variable(Y). There were three instruments used by the researcher in collecting the data. They are Personality Questionnaires which was developed by Florence Littauer and the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) Questionnaires which conducted by Rebecca L. Oxford, and oral test measured from Brown's theory as an indicator. For the first hypothesis it is known that there are 4 types of personality, namely choleric, sanguine, melancholy, and phlegmatic. The calculation results show that the correlation coefficient (r) between temperament characteristics (X1) and speaking skills (Y) is only sanguine which correlates with speaking skills is r count (0.352)> r table (0.296) and the three other personality types are not correlated. It means there is no correlation between temprament characteristics and the speaking skill at Holmesglen Language Centre Tangerang in Academic Year 2020/2021. For the second hypothesis it is known that the correlation between the strategy inventory for language learning (X2) and speaking skills (Y) is positive because the results of the calculation show that the correlation coefficient (r) between strategy inventory for language learning and speaking skills is r count <r table. It means there is no correlation between strategy inventory for language learning and the speaking skill at Holmesglen Language Centre Tangerang in Academic Year 2020/2021. For the third hypothesis is known that the correlation between temprament characteristics, strategy inventory for language learning and speaking skill is positive because the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.532. As a result, it can be stated that the conclusion of this research is that there is no significant corellation between Temperament Characteristics, Strategy Inventory for Language Learning with Speaking skill.
