- This study aimed to examine the effect of firm characteristics and voluntary disclosure to the stock price volatility. Characteristics of firm were used to test the stock price volatility is a firm size, return on equity (ROE), and debt to equity ratio (DER). Retrieval of data in this study using purposive sampling method in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in the year 2009-2013. The samples of this study as many as 15 companies, and for the items voluntary disclosure take from research of Darmadi dan Sodikin(2013) which is about 49 items. The data were tested using multiple regression analysis. The results show that firm size significant and positive effecton the stock price volatility. While, ROE, DER, and voluntary disclosure that have no significant effect on stock price volatility.
