- his research was conducted to analyze and find out the students’ error ofusing simple present tense in writing descriptive text and to know the types andthe causes of errors did by the students. This was qualitative research which themethod to describe the result of a process based on the category that had beendetermined. Therefore, the researcher used document analysis and interview as theinstruments. The result showed all of the students did errors with different typesand causes. Most oferrors that studentsdid wereomission because the studentsforgot to add an item or morpheme which should in a sentence. For instance:omitthe lettersor es that should bewrite in the sentence after singular subject . Thecauses why the students did the error called Incomplete Application of Rules asthe most causes of students’ error, it because the studentsfailed to apply the rulescompletely or the student do not know the whole pattern correctly.
