- The purposive of this research is to know and analyze about the effect of application of cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) on learning outcomes IPS. The methode of this research is experimental quasi with nonequivalent control group design. Sampling is taken by using purposive sampling technique. The selected sample as an experimental class is V-A which receives cooperative type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) as a learning model and V-B as a control class that receives direct instruction as a learning model. To test the hypothesis used test inferensial. Based on the data postest cultivation, it showed that the learning cognitive outcome’s average in experimental class is 80,25 meanwhile in control class is 70,17. From the results of the test different at significant level class values obtained = 0.05 , t- value = 2,89 and t- = 1,674. While the result of test the right obtained t-value 2,89 and t tabel i table = 1,674. Based on the result of this research is the students who learn social subject which use cooperative type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) as a learning model, it has any differences and better than the students which use direct instruction learning model. It indicates that cooperative type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) as a learning model influences the student’s achievement.
