- Biodegradable plastic is plastic that can be degraded by microorganism as bacteria, alga, mushrooms and the other, thus use not impact for the environment. In the study we tried by utilizing natural materials without a mixture or thermoplastic on film plastic, in the hope of plastic that will be formed faster degraded and have the charateristic approached the plastic contained in the market. Experimental purpose of this study is to know the composition of the best in the manufacture of plastic film raw material cellulose and chitosan with composition % mass cellulose and % mass plasticizer with a comparison of 40%:10%, 30%:20%, 20%:30%, 50%:0%, dan 0%:50% to manufacture plastic film and analysis FTIR (Fourier Tranform Infrared), Tensile Strength, Analysis SEM ( Scanning Electron Microscopy), Swelling, and Biodegradation. Composition of the best resulting from the manufacture of plastic that is in comparison cellulose and the glycerol 30%:20% with analysis FTIR show the cluster Ester and carboxyl which indicate plastic is biodegradable, SEM with enlargement 20.000x produced the surface of the meeting so plastic film is not easy rip for uses as a food packaging, tensile strength value 4,08 Mpa, Swelling value 1,2694, and biodegradation value 21,93%.
