- This study aimed to examine whether the economic growth and the financial performance of local governments have a significant influence on local government capital expenditure in DKI Jakarta . Independent variables used in this study is the economic growth and financial performance ( which are represented by the level of financial independence of local , regional financial effectiveness ratio , and SiLPA ) . While the dependent variable is government capital expenditures . The method of this thesis is to use associative causal research design , the sample Jakarta Province. This study was conducted for the period 1983-2012 . The type of data used is secondary data . Data obtained from BPS in the Local Government Finance Statistics . In collecting data using techniques of documentation that is collecting materials and data relating to the subject matter quoted from books, libraries , articles , magazines and other sources that add to the accuracy of the data . The analytical method used is ordinary least square method with the E - views 5.3 The analysis shows that economic growth has a positive but not significant effect on capital expenditures , the level of local financial independence significant negative effect on capital expenditures , effective ratio significant negative effect on capital expenditures , SiLPA significant positive effect on capital expenditures . These results still need further confirmation through further research . This is necessary because there are limitations in this study .
