  • he problems underlying the research done in primary schools Cikubang are the less learning outcomes, learning only centered on the teacher, students are less active, less of student interaction, students are difficult to express their opinions and ask questions, students are difficult to understand and master the material IPS. The research objective of this class action to obtain empirical data on the results of social studies in the fifth grade students of State Elementary School Cikubang District of Pulo Ampel Serang regency, research subjects are students of class V, which amounted to 28 students in the second semester 2014-2015. The concept of this research in the Struggle of Indonesian Independence Maintain by applying cooperative learning model type articulation. The results were obtained from each cycle. In the first cycle of student activity reached 67.3 %, while in the second cycle has reached 96.15 %. Based on the results of research on student learning outcomes data , in the first cycle reaches 82.14 % ≥65 value of the specified school KKM is 66. After repairs, the second cycle learning outcomes reached KKM, 100 % of students received grades ≥65. Based on these results it can be concluded that the use of cooperative learning model articulation can improve learning outcomes and activities of students in social studies. This study has not been said to be excellent, it is advisable for other researchers to develop research on cooperative learning model type articulation. Researchers recommend that teachers use cooperative learning model of this articulation in social studies learning.
