Supervisedby FORCEP RIO INDARYANTO and MUSTAHAL Catfish is one of the freshwater fishery commodities in Indonesia wheih ismuch more preferred because of the typical meat tastes. The level of publicdemand for catfish are tend to increase remarkably. Alternative feed used by fishfarmers in the grow outpond might reduce the cost of production. One alternativefeed was the chicken carcasses for protein content and adequate nutrition tomaximize fish growth and survival. Problems faced in catfish farming is a parasiteattacks that can cause health problems and lead to huge losses, among other massmortality, weight loss and reduction in fecundity.This study aims to determine thetypes of ectoparasites and endoparasites in catfish (Clarias gariepinus) containedin the aquaculture ponds. The study was conducted from April to June 2016, inthe Kiara Village, Walantaka subdistrict, Serang. As for the identification of fishparasites carried out in the Laboratory of Aquaculture Department of FisheriesFaculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The results showedthat the ectoparasites namely were Trichodina, Dactylogyrus, Gyrodactylus.,OodiniumandIchthyophthirius, while the endoparasit namelyNeoechinorhynchussp. The highest was ectoparasites Trichodina, with privalensi value 48%, theintensity of the individual 2.8, and the dominance value 31% on catfish fed withpellets. Prevalence value of 40%, the intensity of the individual 7.88 and 90% inthe dominance of catfish fed with carcasses. While endoparasitNeoechinorhynchuswith the value of a prevalence of 2%, the intensity of oneindividual and value dominance of 1%.
