- Malaria is a disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Plasmodium that infect the red blood cells of patients. Types malaria including tertian malaria caused by the parasite Plasmodium vivax infection, and tropical malaria caused by the parasite Plasmodium falciparum infection. Malaria types tertian and tropical has its own developmental phase that is thropozoit, ring, schizont and gametozit. This study uses a support vector machine, the classification process is first conducted pre-processing such as re-size, grayscale, and median filter and segmented. The second process in the form of conversion into binary level set, then used as input in the classification system. Support vector machine classification method can be applied to image classification types and phases of malaria plasmodium falciparum and plasmodium vivax. The effectiveness of the classification system in the preparations image plasmodium falciparum and plasmodium vivax using support vector machine method get the value of accuracy 78.125 % for setting rbf = 1 , 90.6 % for the setting rbf = 0.5 , and 100 % for the regulation of rbf = 0.1 and for testing with false samples or wrong data obtained system accuracy of 82.8125%.
