  • The purpose of this research is to improve the students' courage to speak about the subject matter that has been presented by the teacher in Social Science subject. The main topic of this research is Understanding the Occupation and the Use of Money through Cooperative Learning Model Time Token Arends at the third grade students of SD Negeri Kadu Kancas Anyer. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. In each cycle there are four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research are 38 students at the third grade of SD Negeri Kadu Kancas Anyer, which consist of 16 men and 22 women. The data collecting techniques of this research are observation, test, and interview. This can be proven by the students’ condition before the treatment, whereas the average of students’ courage in arguing is 44.70 with the completeness percentage 30.43%. The first cycle shows the average students’ courage in arguing is 59.87 with the percentage of completeness 47.83%. In the second cycle, the students’ courage in arguing increases becomes 70.78 with the percentage of 86.96% completeness. The conclusion from this research is the implementation of model: Time Token Arends can improve the students’ courage to speak about the occupation and the use of money in Social Science subject.
