  • have a weakness in mathematical problem solving because the focus of the learning is only on what’s teacher taught, meanwhile students just write and listen. The effort is needed to solve this problem by applying SSCS learning model. The purpose of this research is to know the increasing of students abilities in mathematical problem solving and habits of mind, who get SSCS learning model are better than the students who get conventional learning. Quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design test is used to reach the purpose of this research. The research is in MAN 2 Serang ab the population of this analysis and the whole second semester 2013-2014 students of tenth grade, and two classes are chosen as a sample of analysis. The instrumen that use on this research are mathematical problem solving abilities and habits of mind scala of thr students. Based on the statistic test result are is 2,46 with is 1,66, is 1,83 with is 1,66, is 3,44 with is 1,66, is 2,71 with is 1,68, so that > , is rejected and is accepted. The result shows the increasing of students abilities on mathematical problem solving and habits of mind who get SSCS learning model are better than who get ekspositori method.
