- Monitoring of the child labor phenomenons in Serang city needs to be done by the Department of Labor and Transmigration Serang because there are many child labors who have not been recorded by Department of Labor and Transmigration, slow response and corrective action about the issues of child labor, coordination with other regional work units still weak, and yet widespread dissemination campaign and the elimination of child labor. This study uses the theory of effective characteristics monitoring by Amirullah and Budiyono (2004). The method used is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation study. Informants interviewed are monitor, society, and local governments. Analysis data in this study using a model Lofland and Loflang in Moleong (2010). The final conclusion is monitoring of Department of Labor and Transmigration Serang still not optimal. Recommendations can be given that the data of child labor must be update, mapping about specific issues related to child labor, enforcement and regulatory sanctions for those who employ child labor. Then, take child labor from their workplace and improve coordination between field and also between governments, campaigning and dissemination related to child labor and also conduct job analysis to optimize the performance of employees.
