- This research is motivated by the lack of activities and student learning outcomes class VI with an average value under KKM at 65 in social studies. The purpose of this research is to improve the activity and student learning outcomes in social studies using guided inquiry learning model (guided inquiry). Subjects in this study were 20 students. Data collection techniques were used, namely, a written test, interview on pre-cycle, observation, and dokumentation.Instrumen used for data collection which tests students' learning outcomes in the form of a written test and observation sheet. The results showed that an increase in student learning activities and student learning outcomes. In the first cycle the percentage of students learning activities reached 72%, while in the second cycle the percentage of students learning activities increase reached 100%. Student learning outcomes in the first cycle that reaches the KKM (65) is 80% with an average value of students is 68. While the results of the test on the second cycle which reaches the KKM (65) that is 100% with an average value of student learning outcomes are 78. With the success indicator reaches values above KKM as much as 100%. It can be concluded that the application of guided inquiry learning model (guided inquiry) may enhance the activity and student learning outcomes.
