  • The aim of this research is to know the response of giving some plant growth regulator BAP and NAA on carnation (Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch) growth by in vitro. This research has been done at Biotecnology Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University since Mey 2014 to July 2014. This research used Randomizet Complate Desain (RCD) with to factors.the first factor was BAP concentration with 4 levels, they were 1 mg/l; 1,5 mg/l and 2 mg/l. the last factor was NAA concentrationwith 4 levels, they were 0,1 mg/l; 0,2 mg/l and 0,3 mg/l so there were 16 combinations treatment and each treatment had 2 repetitions. The result of this research showed that the growth medium which added BAP 1,5 mg/l + NAA 0 mg/l gave the shortest time to grow of buds (5,8 day after planting). The combination of BAP 1,5 mg/l + NAA 0,1 mg/l gave the heighest optimum growth for height of. The best result for the number of buds BAP 1,5 mg/l + NAA 0,1 mg/l dan BAP 2 mg/l + NAA 0,1 mg/l. The best result for the number of leaves BAP 0,1 mg/l + NAA 0 mg/l. The best result for the number of roots was giving to the medium with BAP 1 mg/l + NAA 0,1 mg/l and BAP 1,5 mg/l + NAA 0,3 mg/l. explants that had roots were as many as 29 explants or 90,6%. All the living explants during the observation reached 100% with the number of contamination was only 3 explan.
