- The aim of the research is for finding out the influence of using problem based instruction (PBI) model for student’s concept mastery of human respiration system in SMPN 1 Ciruas academic year 2012/2013. The method of research is used quasi experimental with the pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this research were all students in 8th class. The sampling technique of research was using by simple random sampling. The research sample was a class VIII B as experiment class and VIII D as control class. Data was collected by concept mastery test and working sheet. Data was analyzed by t-test for hypothesis testing at significant level 95%. Based on the result of research obtained that the Problem Based Instruction model influence the student’s concept mastery of human respiration system in SMPN 1 Ciruas
