- A research was aimed to know effect of two types of organic fertilizer and several varieties on the growth and crop lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in the hydroponic system. The research was conducted in June until September 2014 at Bukit Baja Sejahtera. The research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors. The first factor was concentration of liquid organic fertilizer which consisted of 3 levels, namely: 50% concentration of fertilizer pulp (P1), 50% bran fertilizer (P2), 50% pulp and bran fertilizer (P3). The second factor was variety which consisted of three levels namely : green varieties (V1), red rapid varieties (V2), red salad bowl varieties (V3). The observation were plants height (cm), leaf number (sheet) and plant weigh (g). The result showed that the best plant growth in the treatment of type liquid organic fertilizer bran concentration (P2) showed the best result at the age of 3 weeks after planting plant height (10.97 cm), and 4 weeks after planting (14.70 cm), while the number of leaf age 3 weeks after planting (5.65 sheets) and 4 weeks after planting (4.77 sheets) and the wet weight of the plant was (16.99 g). Varieties Red Salad treatment to plants height when 3 weeks after planting (10.60 cm) and 4 weeks after planting (14.31 cm), leaf number 3 weeks after planting (5.47 sheet) and leaf number 4 weeks after planting (4,55 sheet) and the wet weight of the plant was (17.77 g). There was interaction between the concentration of fertilizer types and varieties of the number of leaf age 2 weeks after planting (3.99 sheets) and 4 weeks after planting (4.77 sheets) on treatment P2V3
