- The phenomenon that occurs on increasing money demand M vi 2 in Indonesia this time, there are how influence the use of Payment Card Equipments (APMK) to change the payment system in line with technological developments. As well, how the influence of macroeconomic variables (BI rate, and GDP) as the determinant factor in the demand for money are studied macroeconomic theory. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of credit card transaction volume, debit/ATM card transaction volume, BI rate, and GDP variables to money demand M 2 variable. This study uses Johansen Cointegration Test and Error Correction Model (ECM). The data used in this study is the quarterly data which began in the first quarter of 2006 to the fourth quarter of 2014. The result of partial test (t test) in the short term indicates that the variable volume of credit card transactions volume and debit/ATM card transaction volume partially positive and significant effect on the demand of money M 2 in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the variable of BI rate and GDP partially positive and not significant effect on the demand of money M 2 in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the results of simultaneous test (F test) indicates that the variable of credit card transactions volume, debit/ATM card transactions volume, BI rate, and GDP simultaneously significant effect on the demand of money M 2 in Indonesia. Different results partial test (t test) in the long term shows that the credit card transactions volume, debit/ATM card transactions volume, and GDP partially positive and significant effect on the demand of money M 2 in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the variable of BI rate is partially a significant negative effect on the money demand M 2 in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the results of simultaneous test (F test) indicates that the variable of credit card transactions volume, debit/ATM card transactions volume, BI rate, and GDP simultaneously significant effect on the money demand M 2 in Indonesia.
