  • Blast disease caused by Pirycularia grisea is one of the main dry land problem on upland rice productivity, it causes loss up to 90%. Improvement of Situ x IRBL lines by combining blast resistance genes which Pi would be more effective to break blast disease. The purpose of this research is to obtain selected line from BC3F4 Situ x IRBL that resistant to blast disease-associated gene Pita, Pii, PiKp, and Pia in Gogo Field, genotype selection using molecular analysis and phenotype selection using the guidelines SES IRRI (2014). The method of this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. This research shows that there are 18 selected lines i.e. TA-17, TA-22, LIF-8, LIF-24, LIF-141, LIF-166, LIF-170, LIF175, LIF-197, KP-52, KP- 77, KP-130, KP-143, KP-209, KP-242, KP-281, AA207 and AA-253 were 95% homozygous with donor parent Pita, Pii, PiKp, and Pia at the genotype selection, and phenotype selection resulted on the 18 strains showed score 1 (Resistance). So it is confirmeed that the 18 selected lines had a blast disease resistance gene.
