  • The purpose of this study to determine the relative roles of commodity rice andpulses which became the base sector and non base in eachSubDistrict in theSerang Cityand to determine the relative position of the commodity sector riceand pulses in SerangCity as an observation area andProvince Banten as areference area. The method used is quantitative method. The location of thisresearch that theSub Districtin the Serangcity, which consists of theSubDistrictCurug, Walantaka, Cipocok Jaya, Serang, Taktakan and Kasemen. The datacollected was secondary data. Analysis of data using analysis Location Quetiont(LQ) and analysis LQ Shift LQ . Based on this research, note the relativepositions of commodities which are the basis of the commodity sectorpaddyin thesubdistrict Walantaka, Cipocok Jaya, Serang and Kasemen. Commodity sectorbasis paddy fields in the district there is a waterfall and Taktakan. Corncommodity sector basis contained in sub districts Curug and Walantaka.Commodity basis cassava sector in thesubdistrict Walantaka and Cipocok Jaya.Sector sweet potatoes are a commoditysectorbasisin thesubdistrict Walantaka,Cipocok Jaya and Taktakan. Peanut commodity sector basis in thesub districtTaktakan. Green bean commodity sector basis contained in the sub districtTaktakan and soybean commodity sector basis contained in the sub districtKasemen. In addition, an unknown commodity with the relative position of theprogressive sector is peanuts. While the commodity with the relative position ofthe sector is sluggish paddy rice, maize, cassava, sweet potatoes and green beans.As for the commodity with the relative position resign sector is rice fieldsandsoybean.
