equipped with traffic signals . This intersection has the potential to cause traffic
congestion due to dense enough , especiall at rush hour with various types of
vehicles didalamnya.Simpang five Ciracas Serang also serves as an alternative
way to get to the center - the center of town activities , and as a pathway large
vehicles heading towards Pandeglang. 
The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of the intersection
of the existing condition to analyze the performance of the intersection of five
Ciracas provide alternative solutions to improve the performance of Simpang
Lima Ciracas Serang. Data retrieval is based on primary data and secondary
data. Intersection performance analysis method used is Indonesian Highway
Capacity Manual 1997. 
Based on the results of research on the intersection of Five Ciracas can be
seen that the intersection of Five Ciracas close to saturation. In West and East
closers produce a degree of saturation (DS) 0.69 and 0.72 (ds <0.75;
unsaturated). In North and South closers produce a degree of saturation (DS) of
1.05 and 1.15 (ds> 0.75; saturated). The highest queue length at the intersection
of 400 m. Large numbers stop intersection is 2,31 stop / smp. Average delay
intersection is 184.27 smp / sec. Service level with the level F (> 60 sec / smp). To
improve intersection Five Ciracas performance, carried out repairs with widening
alternative geometry, signal timing, application turn and left immediately,.
Closers produce a degree of saturation in the West, East, North, and South
America are 0.24, 0.36, 0.34, and 0.34. Intersection delay the average - average
is 13,32 det / smp.
