One of the learning&#xD; models that can be used is CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and&#xD; Extending) mixed with scientific approach. This study aims to determine to&#xD; compare mathematical problem solving ability and improvement of student selfesteem&#xD; &#xD; who get the CORE model mixed with scientific approach and students&#xD; who received scientific learning. The method used is a quasi-experimental method&#xD; with population of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bayah. Sampling is&#xD; conducted through purposive sampling technique.
