  • This research was aimed to determine the effect of fertilizer types and light intensity level and its interaction on the growth of talas beneng (Xanthosoma undipes K.Koch). The method used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) consisted two factors and three replications. The first factor was the type of fertilizer (P), which consisted of three levels, namely : inorganic fertilizer NPK (P1), organic fertilizer industry petroganik (P2) and chicken manure fertilizer + NPK (P3). The second factor was the level of light intensity (I) which consisted of three levels, namely : 50 % light intensity (I1) , the light intensity of 25 % (I2) and light intensity of 100 % (I3). The results showed that the use of organic fertilizer industry (P2) provides the best results on plant height parameter 6 WAP (71,97cm) , 8 WAP (81,65cm) , 10 WAP (92,22cm) , 12 WAP (104,85cm), number of leaves 6 WAP (2,92 piece) , 8 WAP (3,22 piece) , 10 WAP (3,11 piece) and stem diameter 6 WAP (3,12cm), 8 WAP (3,67cm). The treatment effect of light intensity levels are not significantly affected all parameters are observed, but at a rate of 100 % light intensity (I3) tend the better results on plant height parameter 12 WAP (94,57cm) and stem diameter of 12 WAP (4,33cm). There was no interaction between the types of fertilizers and the level of light intensity on all parameters observed.
