- Green Journalism is a work of Journalism that concern to inform about environmental issues. So that the public can understand and realize the danger in their environment. Reporting of the environment are required to fous on the main problem causes of disasters, the mitigation of the environment, and rehabilitas that can be pursued. So when the issue of the environment, whether it is a natural disaster or damage caused by humans, Green Jornalism can be an attempt from mass media to invite peoples concerned about the environment. Republika’s cover edition Thursday, October 8 th , 2015 is an example of a Green Journalism in mass media. The interesting about this cover, a work of journalism not just about text and picture but in this edition Republika’s cover served in a visualization that has a lot of interpretations. This research tried to understand the Green Jurnalism On Republika’s cover by analyzing qualitative interpretative. Semiotics Roland Barthes used as the basis to determine the meaning contained behind the visualization. Signification of two order become the focs of analysis in this study. So this research has resulted the denotation meaning as a resulting meaning from first order and the second order discovering the connotation meaning and myth that contained in Republika’s cover.
