- Reading is one of the important components in human life, because with reading the people can increase their knowledge, their mindset and their imagination. Reading is not only reads the text until finish but also the readers need to comprehend what the text about. It can be a key to absorb and comprehend the text the readers read. To be more improve the ability in reading comprehension, it is needed a method which covers the success in process of learning reading comprehension. The method used was SQ4R Method and Narrative Text as mediator to increase reading comprehension. The subject in this research was the students at tenth grade of SMK YAPIPA South Tangerang. The research used was experimental research with treatment design was 2X2. The instrument try out was analyzed used Point Biserial formula for validity test and Kuder Richarsond 20 (KR20) formula for reliability test. The test of statistical requirement consisted used Chi Square for normality test and F test for homogeneity test. To analyzed data, it was used ANAVA test two paths. The result of this research was t at significant level 0,05. For the first hypothesis, it was gained t = 11,1 and t table = 4,105. For the second hypothesis, it was gained t vi count count count > t = 8,105 and t = 4,105. For the third hypothesis, it was gained t count = 5,17 and t = 4,105 and for the fourth hypothesis, it was gained t count = 8,80 and t = 4,105. In other words, it could be concluded that all hypotheses were accepted and significant, because t count was higher than t
