- This thesis aims is find out whether there is correlation among the student’s interest to study Indonesian language, vocabulary mastery with the skill in narrative writing of SMA Al-Khairiyah 1 Cilegon students, grade XI. This research use correlation technique because it is suitable to collect information and data that are used to know the correlation among dependent variable the skill in narrative writing (Y) and independent variable the student’s interest to study Indonesian language (X 1 ) and vocabulary mastery (X ). Data collection method used is the method of testing and observation methods were then analyzed to formulate the research. Based on the result by the research , the conclusion shows that (1) there is significant correlation between the student,s interest to study Indonesian language with the skill in narrative writing, grade XI of SMA Al-Khairiyah 1 Cilegon student, with the coefificient correlation r y1 vi 2 = 0,882 and the equation regression Y = 5,653 + 1.264X known that the value t hitung 13.746 and t test two side with dk (dk = 56 – 2 = 54) for α = 1% amount 2,670,and α = 5% amount 2,005. tabel (2) There is significant correlation between vocabulary mastery with the skill in narrative writing grade XI of SMA Al-Khairiyah 1 Cilegon student, with the coefificient correlation r y2 = 0,356, and the equation regression Y = 53,895 + 0,899X , known that the value t hitung 2,800 and t test two side with dk (dk = 56 – 2 = 54) for α = 1% amount 2,670,and α = 5% amount 2,005. (3) There is significant correlation between the student’s interest to study Indonesian language and vocabulary mastery with the skill in narrative writing, grade XI of SMA Al-Khairiyah 1 Cilegon student, with the coefificient plural correlation r y12 tabel = 0,892, and the plural eguation regression Y = 4.275 + 1,213X + 0,349X 2 , known that the value F gained by to table F with df 1 hitung = 2 and df 2 amount 103.135, mean while F = 53 then F = 3,172. Because the value F hitung > F tabel tabel (103.135 > 3,172). Based on the findings, this research concluded that the skill in narrative writing sentence ability could be promoted by improving of student’s interest to study Indonesian language and mastery vocabulary.
