  • ESDM in 2014 explained Indonesia's coal reserves are 104.8 billion tons. Especially for Banten , coal were found in South Banten Bayah. Gasification is a solution for the use of coal. Coal gasification is the process of converting coal into a gas. The main reaction is the reaction of water gas, boundouard and water-gas shift. This study aims to determine the effect of air fuel ratio (AFR) gasification, the temperature and the use of a catalyst in the coal gasification process that produces synthesis gas with a ratio of H2 / CO ≈ 2. The measured parameters are the gas composition H2 and CO by using gas chromatography, Gasification process used fixed bed reactor with updraft type, coal mashed at 14-18 mesh size of 300 grams with variation AFR of 1.5; 2 and 2.5. Variations in temperature of 600 ° C, 700 ° C and 800 ° C. The best results were obtained synthesis gas composition ratio of H2 / CO was 1.98, at temperature of 800oC and AFR 1.5 using catalyst Ca(OH)2 with a composition of 33.8% H2 and CO 17.1%.
