  • This study aims to determine the effect of the use of problem-based learning (PBL) and the critical thinking skills of students to the learning outcomes on citizenship education lessons (Material: Community participation in the political system in Indonesia) at SMK Guna Bangsa Banjarsari Lebak. Samples were randomized by random (Random Sampling) of the sample were determined. This study population X class numbered 80 people were also sampled (saturated sample). Data collection techniques with the members test (Post). The research results obtained (1) There are differences in citizenship education learning outcomes on student X using problem-based learning (PBL) with the direct learning model. (2) There are differences in learning outcomes of students with critical thinking skills with the ability of students to think critically low. (3) There are differences in learning outcomes of students with problem based learning with students having higher critical thinking skills and by using model directly with students who have the ability to think critically high. (4) There are differences in learning outcomes using problem based learning with students who have the ability to think critically low and student learning outcomes using direct learning model students who have the ability to think critically low. (5) There are differences in learning outcomes of problem based learning with students having higher critical thinking skills with student learning outcomes using direct learning model with students who have the ability to think critically low. (6) There are differences in learning outcomes of students with learning model directly with students who have a high critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of students with learning model directly with students who have the ability to think critically low.
