- The aim of this research was to investigate whether the video is effective towards students’ procedural text writing achievement or not. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 3 Rangkasbitung. The method of the research was quasiexperimental research. The population of the research was all students at the tenth grade that consist of six classes and two classes were chosen as the experimental class and the control class. The sample was 88 students. The research results showed those two classes had similar score in the pre-test. The mean score of the experimental class was 57,18 and the mean score of the control class was 61,09. After the treatment was done, the post-test result showed that the mean score of experimental class was 79,63 and mean score of the control class was 74.90. It meant that the students’ score in the experimental class was higher than the students’ score in the controlled class. To know the effectiveness of this technique, t-test formula in SPSS software v.22 was used. The result showed pvalue (sig (2 tailed)) of post-test was lower than alpha level (0,004 < 0.05). So, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded that video was effective towards students’ writing achievement.
