- This research is motivated by the lack student learning outcomes in the Elementary Scohool fourth grade Warakas 2 in social studies. This study tends to use the lecture methods andthe low activity student so that student learning outcomes are low. The purpose of this research is to increase student activity and student learning outcomes using the method guess the word. This study used a Classroom ction Research (CAR), which was conducted in March to Agustus, as many as 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. The stages in this research that the palnning, implementation, observation, andreflection. Based of the research that has been carried out, showing that the pre-cycle student learning outcomes seen from the results of the daily tests the average value reached 60,60 comprised of students do not pass the study reached 73% and the students thoroughly learn reached 27% of number of 33 student. In the first cycle tests of learning outcomes at an average of 60,60 with a student does not achieve 64% complete and thorought student reaches 36%. Than there was an in crease in the second cycle of learning outcomes seen an average of 84,84 students achieve mastery criterion reaches 94%. Based on the results of the study concluded that the a method guess the word can increase the activity of students and learning outcomes in social studies material natural features and socio-cultural diversity.
