- One of the big problems facing many developing countries (including indonesia) is the high level of poverty or the number of people are below the poverty line .Causing millions of poverty the people meet their food needs , clothing and board on a limited extent .The different levels of poverty in the province of banten between kabupaten and kota levels are quite high . The aim of this research is to find out what the country ' s economic growth and the level of education, the number of poor people in the city and Banten.A secondary use the data released by the central statistics agency ( BPS ), in the period of may 2005 until 2012. The use of regression this method of the panel. The result of this research indicates that , the rate of economic growth and the level of education have negative influence and significantly to the population of the poor .All variable against influential significant number of poor people . Keyword : number of poor people , the rate of economic growth and the level of education
