- PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the field of logistics warehouses. PT. XYZ has 34 warehouses used to store a variety of products the customer of his, including the steel, coil, cement, building materials, seed pellets, as well as oil. Of the 34 warehouse is divided into blocks based on location warehouse warehouse consisting of block A, block B, block C, and D blocks, each block having a different number of warehouses. The study was conducted at the warehouse blocks b1, b2, b3 PT. XYZ is placed oil products from the PT. ABC. The problems that exist today are not any fixed rule regarding the layout of the products in the warehouse. Resulting in disruption of the process of loading and unloading and material handling activities. To explain the problem, use a dedicated storage method and validation results of the simulation approach. Dedicated storage method is a method of storage layout based on the number of products in and out activity (throughput) of products in the warehouse with the shortest distance to the doorway. The products are placed according to the needs of each slot and the storage location is fixed, so that the flow of products in and out of the warehouse and storage areas can be coordinated. The purpose of this study is to design a good layout is based on the principle of dedicated storage, determine the total distance and the cost of material handling before and after repair. The results of the design with dedicated storage method is to place the products based on the activities in and out of the product in the warehouse with the shortest distance to the slot doorway to obtain a total distance of 45671.9 m of material handling with material handling cost of Rp 52,606,721, 3. This distance decreased by 33574.22 m and a decrease in the cost of material handling is Rp 38,672,132.05, or approximately 42.36% of the previous distance, which is 79246.12 m with material handling cost of Rp 91,278,853.35
