- Archipelagic Fishing Port AFP of Karangantu is the only one of fishing harbour that distribute a large amount of fish needs result in Banten. Danish sein’s is fishing sear that was operated by one day trip to catch demersal fish. Unfairly result of catches handling or didn’t use cold chain system when transported to the dock or distribution place might caused the quality of fish become unfresh. The stategy of fish quality handling is very important in order to keep fish are fresh and good quality when fish were utilized by costomer. This research aims to findout fish quality handling of Danish sein’s catehes that landed in AFP fishing port of Karangantu. The method of this research was by survey. Data was collected through questionnaire, organoleptic test, and qualitative test of formaline content. SWOT analysis used to formulate the Fishing Handling Stategi. The result showed that quality of fish handling which was conducted in Karangantu fishing port was unfairly because it didn’t apply cold chain system. The result of organoleptic test of three kinds of fish (Nemipterus sp, Upeneus sp, Leiognathus sp.) in six (6) parameters, their condition were still fresh with average score is eight (8). The result of the research on November 2013 showed that from 27 fish samples examined from three dogol ships, all of them contained formaline. The result of data analysis through SWOT analysis founded that the position of handling strategy of fish quality of dogol catch result for fisherman was on quadrant 1, with the strategy of increasing fish quality that landed and increasing fisherman awareness and knowledge on handling of catching. The strategy for Danish sein’s of fish handling catches result by Kartangantu is in quadran 1, with the strategy of increasing control and founding stake holders strategy on fish handling in AFP Karangantu
