- This research aimed to determine the potential of Bacillus sp. towards blast disease (Pyricularia oryzae Cav.) on paddy plants (Oryza sativa L). The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa on April until June 2015. The research used a single factor experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The treatment consisted 9 isolates of Bacillus sp. obtained from endophytic roots of paddy plants based on results of the initial screening and one control for comparison. The test results showed the in vitro testing of antagonists to inhibit the growth a Pyricularia oryzae Cav. in which inhibit of 9 isolates of Bacillus sp. had the significant potential. The results showed that the roots of paddy endophytic bacteria Bacillus sp. potentially for controlling blast disease in paddy plants.
