- This study aims to determine the effect of inflation and the GDP variable (A Case Study of DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta Period 2002-2013) ". The analytical method used is linear regression analysis of panel data with FEM method with the help of software Eviews 8. The results of this study indicate that during the time period 2002-2013 inflation variables significantly influence the unemployment rate and variable Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) had no significant effect on the rate of open unemployment. Simultaneously, the independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. The coefficient of determination (R 2) is found to be 0.951796. This shows that amounted to 95.1796% of independent variables such as the inflation rate and the GDP able to explain the dependent variable is the rate of open unemployment.
