- This research is aimed to test the power of predation ladybird Menochilus sexmaculatus the larvae stage and the imago against pests Aphis craccivora. Research used completely randomized design (RAL) 1 factor. The location of this research conducted at Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Ciruas and Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Serang, Banten. The treatments used were controls, the use of synthetic pesticides, predator Menochilus sexmaculatus larvae, male imago M. sexmaculatus and female. The observed parameters in this research were the mortality percentage of total Aphis craccivora, lethal time of 50%, and first timing. The results showed that the percentage of total mortality was highest in the treatment of pesticide application that was about 97.86%. Then it was followed with the treatment of larvae Menochilus Sexmaculatus was about 77.71%. On the Lethal time (50%) parameter, the lowest value was the treatment of pesticides with the average time required to kill 50% of A. craccivora only in the range of 0.7 hours since the initial observations and followed by treatment of the larvae is ± 1,7 hours. Predator can quickly found prey first, and also capable of preying 50% of the number of prey given in a short time it means that fairly voracious predator.
