  • The aim of the research is to know the difference between guided inquiry learning method and expository and also the high early ability and low ability toward concept comprehension of magnet competention. The approach of this research is quantitatif with quasi experiment method. The research design is factorial 2 x 2. The research population is grade IX of nine classes. One class consists of 38 students. From nine classes are taken two classes by using purposive sample. Class IX A as a experiment class and class IX B as a control class. The research is conducted at the second semester in 2015/2016 at the students of state Yunior High School 1 Labuan Pandeglang Regency. The students of experiment class and control class doing test of early ability by using test which is validity, reliability, dificulty degree and distringuishing. The result of early ability is arranged from high to low, and then we take 25% for the high early ability and 25% for low early ability. The amount of research sample are 40.The process of learning by using two different methods namely guided inquiry in experiment class, and expository in control class. The process of learning is closed by comprehension concept magnet test. The data of normality is tested by using Kolmogorov Smirnov and the homogenity by using one way ANOVA. After the data is proved has normal distributed and homogen, we tested research hypotesis by using Two Ways ANAVA and Tukey test. The result of hypotesis test indicates that there is difference between student’s concept magnet ability which use guided inquiry and expository. The result indicate that the score of p-value is 0.037 <  = 0.05. There is a difference magnet concept ability of the students which have high early ability and low ability. The test result of p-value is 0.000 <  = 0.05. There is interaction between learning method and early ability. The result p-value is 0.000 <  = 0.05. The research conclusion is the method of guided inquiry give higher concept ability than expository. Significanly, the student which has higher early concept ability will have higher result if we compare to low early ability, both in quided inquiry and expository.
