- This research aimed to know the growth response of Beneng Taro (Xanthosoma undipes K.Koch) on level of sukcrose in MS Medium and wavelength in vitro. The research was conducted from March to June 2016 in Biotechnology Laboratorium of Faculty Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Serang-Banten. In this research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) that consisted of two factors. The first factor is level of sucrose with four levels: S1 (10g/l); S2 (20 g/l); S3 (30 g/l); S4 (40g/l). The second factor with five levels of radiance colour: B0 (control), B1 (red), B2 (yellow), B3 (green), and B4 (blue). Therefore, there were 20 combinations of treatments, each treatment was repeated three times so there were 60 experimental units. The result showed the addition of sucrose 20 g/l gave the best result on plant height and sucrose 30 g/l gave increased number of leaf. Afterwards the illumination colour did not give significantly effect of all parameters except the white convex plastic covers increased number of root in 4 weeks after culture. Interaction between level of sucrose and wavelength just gave significantly effects to leaf number in 2 weeks after planting
