- Wood apple is one of a kind plant and allowed in the family Rutaceae. Kawista has many benefits such as the material of processed food, medicine and ceremonial. But, this plants are difficult to conventional cultivated so it needs another alternative. The purpose of this research was to determined the effect of the used of explants variant and sterilization methods in the growth wood apple ( Feronia limonia Swingle ) in vitro. The experiment was conducted from March 2016 to June 2016 in biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design with 2 factors. Explants variant as first factor with 2 factor levels (leaf and seeds). Sterilization methods as second factor with 3 levels (concentration of baycline 5%, concentration of baycline 10% and concentration of baycline 15%). The results showed that explants variant gave difference response for growth response wood apple sign with callus induction. In this research the best of explants variant was leaf. Sterilization methods did not gave difference for growth response wood apple, but it can reduce percentage of contaminated 86.67% and percentage of browning 90%.
