  • This research attempts to know the difference of the results learning and activity students on subject’sscience class after using model discovery learning to their student’s grade 3 of public school Karangtumaritis. Research methodology used is the method quasi experiments, while design research used is non equivalent control group design. There are two classes in this research, namely and control groups experiment. The control group that is a student III-B consisting of 30 students given Direct Instruction and class experiment that is a student III-A consisting of 30 students given treatment use the model discovery learning. As for technique data collection was about the test results learn of posttest and nontest of sheets of observation activity students and documentation. Based on the research results show that there are significant differences between study results students who use learning model discovery learning with who uses direct learning, can be seen from ttest namely 3,99 > 2.0017, so Ha accepted and Ho were rejected.The result learning of students using a learning model of discovery learning is higher than students who use direct learning model, can be seen from ttest namely 4.86 ≥ 2.0017, so Ha accepted and Ho were rejected.Activity students experiment get result much as 86,6 % thus, students are actively involved on subject’s natural science class.
