  • The research is aimed to understand the response of growth and yield of red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) by using several varieties of hybrid red pepper plant (Capsicum annuum L.) and different timing of inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). This research was conducted at Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian Banten (BPTP) and Laboratory Agroecological Agriculture Faculty of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, started from June until September 2014. Experimental design used in this research is Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. First factor is varieties of hybrid red pepper which consisted of three levels: v1 (Prabu F1), v2 (Gada F1), and v3 (Gada MK F1). The second factor is timing of inoculation of AMF which consisted of four levels: m0 (without AMF), m1 (AMF inoculation at nursery), m2 (AMF inoculation at transplanting), and m3 (AMF inoculation at nursery and transplanting). The result shows that the varieties of hybrid red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) do not provide the best impact at all parameters. The timing of inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) provides the best impact at the nursery on the parameter plant height 1 - 3 MST, the number of branches 5 - 6 MST, and the amount of peppers. There is no interaction between the varieties of hybrid red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) and timing of inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on growth and yield of red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.).
