This, research is aimed at finding the answer to the following research questions: (1) What is the technique that the teacher uses on teaching speaking to the second grade the students of tour guide program at SMK N 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2015/2016? (2) What are the problem faced and solution by the English teacher and the student in teaching speaking to the second grade student of tour guide program at SMK N 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2015/ 2016? The objective of the research were to know the technique of teaching speaking for the second grade students of tour guide program at SMK N 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2015/2016 and the problems faced by the English teacher and the student in teaching speaking to the second grade of tour guide program at SMK N 1 Karanganyar in academic year 2015/ 2016. The research was a descriptive qualitative research. The object is English Teaching Technique in UPW 13. The subject of the research are the teacher and student at second grade of SMK N 1 Karanganyar. The researcher did three steps to analyses the data. There are reduction of data, data display and drawing conclusion. The researcher use triangulations as a trustworthiness the data. The result of the research are the teacher used discussion technique in Teaching English Speaking. The teacher need much time to prepare the materials and the other problem come from students they has lack of vocabulary and the mastery of English grammar.
