- Key Words : Students Motivation, Reading Comprehension, Correlation The students’ reading comprehension is influenced by internal and external factors. Motivation is one of the internal factors that influence in learning. Motivation is theoretical construct used to explain the initiation, direction, intensity and persistence of behavior, especially goal-direction behavior. So the objectives of the research are to determine the correlation between (1) the students’ motivation and reading comprehension; (2) the students’ achievements in students’ motivation and reading comprehension. The method used in this research was a correlation method. The population of the research is all the fourth semester students of the State Islamic Institute of Surakarta. By using cluster random sampling techniques, the research takes consists of 35 students. The instruments of collecting data are questionnaires and test. The questionnaire was used to collect the data of students’ motivation; while the objective test was used to collect the data of reading comprehension. In analyzing the data, the researcher used Pearson Product Moment and Multiple Linear Regression Formula. The result of the study show that (1) there is a positive correlation between students motivation and Reading comprehension (ro=0,879), (2) From the data if the test we can know that the mean of the students’ motivation is 73,8. So it can be concluded their achievements of students’ motivation is enough level. To reading comprehension, From the data if the test we can know that the mean of the reading comprehension is 67,8. So it can be concluded their achievements of reading comprehension is enough level.
