  • ABSTRAK Title of thesis : SCHOOL - BASED QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGEMENT IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STATE SCHOOL (SDN) 1 Paseban Bayat KLATEN IN 2010 Author :TUGIYEM NIM :26.09.73.027 This study used descriptive qualitative approach kualitatif.dengan approach to a process of research and understanding based on the methodology of investigating a phenomenon of social and human problems. Setting the background of this research takes on SDN 1 Paseban Bayat Klaten. The subject of research directed at school principals, teachers and staff kaeyawan and committees. This study aims to determine the implementation of SBM and MPMBS at SDN 1 Paseban Bayat Klaten in 2010. The collection of data through several sources in natural environments through in-depth interview techniques, participatory observation, the study documentation. Technical examination of the validity of data is done by extending the observation, increased persistence and triangulation. Data analysis was performed with data reduction and data presentation of data verification. The results describe the implementation of SBM and MPMBS at SDN 1 Paseban Bayat Klaten in 2010 through the rare-steps taken by school principals are as follows: a) Optimizing the role of head of SDN 1 Paseban Bayat Klaten, b) Optimizing the Role of Teachers and School Staff, c ) Optimizing the Role of Parents and Community, d) Optimizing the Role of Students. And strategies taken to improve the quality of the SDN 1 Paseban Bayat Klaten is a) Strengthen the curriculum, b) Strengthen Management Capacity, c) Strengthening Education Personnel Resources by: i) Strengthening of Education Workforce Education System, ii) Strengthening Leadership, iii) Improving Teaching Quality Through Innovative Competency-Based Program, iv) Improving sustainable. In the performance of the school's commitment to the functions of planning, implementing, managing, organizing and evaluating educational programs well enough to show improvement in educational quality is significantly SDN 1 Paseban Keywords: school-based quality improvement management
