  • ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to investigate how the strategic management of Leadership in Government Elementary School madrassa head of Muhammadiyah Sribit Sragen regency and the efforts made head of the madrasa to improve teacher performance. The form of this research is carried out qualitative research. This research was conducted at Government Elementary School Muhammadiyah Sribit Sragen regency with as many as one person's head respondeng madrassa, eight teachers and two committees. Data was collected by interview technique, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three stages, namely: data reduction, data and conclusion that interact with each other. The verification process is often stepped back on stage for triangulation of data reduction is always intern in the research process. The result is the leadership of strategic management applied by the head of the MIM Sribit is inclined to the observation and evaluation are included in the SWOT analysis by using three phases: Phase Formulation, Implementation Phase and Evaluation Phase. The pattern of leadership that is applied at Government Elementary School Sribit Muhammadiyah is the pattern of participative leadership with a model of Total Quality Management (TQM), or which is known by the term leadership is open (non-directive). Efforts to improve teacher performance by Sribit MIM chief was given the opportunity to follow the activities of teachers working group (KKG), continued to study learning, Education and Training (Training), and implementation of lesson plans and evaluation of supervision, coaching and guidance on all elements of the school, held a week once, to express our appreciation to the teachers as a motivation, involving elements of the school in creating a work program, and holds regular meetings to evaluate the performance of all elements of the school. To maintain and improve the performance were held at Government Elementary School Sribit Muhammadiyah, the need for the learning process. For the leadership of Islamic schools, the strategic management which has been applied has been quite good. However, it still needed improvement and refinement of strategic management for more leverage. Keywords: Strategic Management Leadership Principal, Teacher Performance
