- Abstract This research aims at knowing: 1) the extracurricular management in State Junior High School 10 of Surakarta (SMPN 10 Surakarta), 2) the supports and barriers of extracurricular management in SMPN 10 Surakarta, 3) the solutions of the barriers in extracurricular management in SMPN 10 Surakarta This research was descriptive qualitative research. It was conducted in SMPN 10 Surakarta, in 2nd semester, in 2014/2015academic year. The subject of this research was the headmaster of the school, while the respondents were teachers, extracurricular supervisor, and students. The method of data collecting was done by document analysis, observation and interview. The data analysis was done by interactive model that consisted of data reduction, data display and conclusion. The data validity of the research was data triangulation and the data analysis was done by using interactive model that consisted of data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results of the research are: 1) Implementation of extracurricular management in SMPN 10 of Surakarta, in 2014/2015 academic year has started from planning, organizing, implementing and supervising, 2) The suitable supports intended here are motivation from the headmaster, teachers and supervisors that are experts in this activity, and also good facilities, while the barrier is that the material has not been arranged well for the supervisors that only rely on material mastery and their experiences, 3) extracurricular materials must be arranged neatly, in the written form and in a good order.
