  • Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of clinical supervision;the obstaclesand the solutions of the implementation of clinical supervisi in order to improve the performance of islamiceducation teacher in elementary school,District Jaten, Karanganyar. This study used qualitative research methods. The study was conducted in elementary school in District Jaten Karanganyar in August-October 2013. Subjects were teachers of elementary school,District Jaten, Karanganyar Regency and islamic education teacher supervisor. As the informants of research were headmaster, headmaster deputy, and students. The results showthat: (1) clinical supervision is used to solve the problems of teaching, learning and academic administration to improve the performance of teachers of Islamic religion, through the planning stages; implementation; and monitoring and evaluation; (2) Barriers to implementation supervision of clinical supervision in the learning process are (a) most teachers do not make an assessment through the components. (b) not develop materials wrote. (c) not use the media. (d) assessment instruments have not been implemented. Academic administrative barriers: are (a) approximately 69% copy and paste the learning plan. (b) not making assessment instruments. (c) many teachers guided. (d) the lack of a clinical supervision. (e) the teacher is not ready for clinical supervised. (f) the limited ability of teachers to develop materials wrote. To overcome these obstacles, we need a well-planned solution, namely: (a) create a schedule; (b) conduct clinical supervision adjusting of the problems faced by teachers.
